Master of Science in Education

The Master’s program in Educational Sciences at the Interamerican University of Social Sciences (IUSS) is designed taking into account the profound changes that have occurred in the last century. International economic and political changes have significantly impacted all levels of education, prompting theoretical and practical analysis and reformulations that require professionals to develop new competencies. Therefore, educational institutions face the challenge of developing high-level human resources capable not only of anticipating and designing innovative solutions and interventions in diverse situations, but also of accessing and efficiently applying new information and communication technologies (ICTs).

The Interamerican University of Social Sciences (IUSS) is committed, as an institution of higher education, to developing human resources committed to the training of researchers and the development of scientific research. This includes the periodic publication of this new knowledge, teaching, and outreach activities that contribute to the economic, political, and social development of their regions. With extensive knowledge and skills in research techniques and methodologies in specific areas of knowledge and with adequate development of their critical and creative potential, this knowledge will allow the Master’s student to actively and positively project themselves to solve specific problem situations and produce and disseminate knowledge.

Graduates of the Master’s Program in Educational Sciences will be able to:

  • Develop research capacity to generate scientific knowledge in different areas and fields of education;
  • Strengthen teaching in teacher training by providing up-to-date knowledge, using relevant methods, and training in reading and interpreting scientific results;
  • Prepare professionals capable of conducting, directing, and disseminating research relevant to the transformation and improvement of education in the region;
  • Publish and disseminate the intellectual output and final reports of research conducted by teachers and graduate students as a result of their interactive educational activities;
  • Promote and maintain, as an ongoing activity, colloquia and academic events prepared by teachers and master’s students, which foster teamwork, scientific output, and intercultural development.
  • Critically analyze various positions or interpretations historical;
  • Identify educational needs in their social and teaching environments;
  • Design and implement original research projects to address educational situations;
  • Direct and coordinate research teams;
  • Plan and implement curriculum design, evaluation, and redesign projects;
  • Develop academic development programs in educational institutions;
  • Teach based on a deep knowledge of their discipline and the use of innovative teaching and learning strategies linked to modern concepts of communication;
  • Exercise leadership in their field of action, maintaining and promoting the ethical and moral principles and values ​​of a democratic society.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ENROLLMENT
  • Have completed a higher education course (bachelor’s degree, graduate course);
  • Complete the master’s degree enrollment requirement;
  • Submit personal and academic documents along with the enrollment requirement.
