The Doctoral Program in Public Health at the Interamerican University of Social Sciences (IUSS) seeks to train professionals who are challenged and capable of opening up the necessary horizons, with clear and defined projects.
Today’s advances in public health, social, and technological management, especially globalization, place a clear responsibility on us, increasing the need to stay up-to-date and compatible with the developments taking place around us.
In this sense, it will be of fundamental importance that the exercise of professional functions related to the quality of life of the population, especially with regard to health issues, be aligned with modernity and the demands of both urban and rural areas.
In this way, the creation of agreements with converging social and educational purposes will play an important role in elevating professional capacity in the health field.
The comprehensive training process of the Doctoral Program in Public Health at the Inter-American University of Social Sciences (IUSS) provides a learning experience that transforms the professional careers of those who pursue it, expanding their horizons of development, research, self-confidence, and public health management.

- PhD in Public Health;
- Is able to put into practice and expand the knowledge acquired in the program to address a real-life problem;
- Verify the acquisition of new skills and knowledge that combine knowledge acquisition, research initiative, and the development of critical and reflective thinking on issues inherent to public health in the modern world;
- Have the predisposition to act in a permanent professional manner with great sensitivity for relationships in diverse environments and different levels of society;
- Develop the necessary skills for the use of new technologies and methodological tools for planning and management;
- Is able to appropriately support and argue their conclusions;
- Is skilled at searching for information and learning on their own;
- Has the ability to communicate effectively in a Individual, interpersonal, group, and institutional skills;
- He/She is skilled in critical reading and summary techniques;
- He/She has the ability to lead and build an effective work team.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ENROLLMENT
- Have completed a master’s degree;
- Complete the doctoral enrollment requirement;
- Submit personal and academic documents along with the enrollment requirement.
